The Council of the State has confirmed the definitive scrapping of the idea that Ligue 1 could move to having just two relegation spots and Ligue 2 just two promotion spots from as soon as next season.
As a result, the current structure where three sides are relegated from Ligue 1 each season and three sides promoted from Ligue 2 each season will be maintained.
