Baron Corbin is busy putting himself over on social media en route to his match with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35. The former Monday Night Raw Constable will face Angle on The Grandest Stage of Them All in Kurt’s WWE farewell match.

Corbin gave fans his pick of the week with the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal from WrestleMania 32, then wrapped up his comments with an interesting declaration.

“At WrestleMania 32, I won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in front of 100,000 plus people. But it won’t be my pick for long. Because at WrestleMania 35, I become your new Olympic Gold Medalist.”

Corbin is obviously trying to build some heat for this match, but it’s a rather bizarre way to do it. It seems that no one behind the scenes decided to remind him that one would actually have to compete in the Olympic Games in order to win a gold medal.

It’s all very tongue-in-cheek of course, but for many fans, Corbin remains the very last choice for Angle’s retirement match opponent. The WWE faithful believed that John Cena should have had that spot but as of this writing, Corbin will indeed be the man to give Kurt Angle his final match in a WWE ring.

Anything can happen on April 7 however, which means that John could show up on the Raw before or the night of Mania. If he does, then he may be added to the match. Whether or not he could replace Corbin altogether is unknown.
