At this evening’s NXT television taping event at Full Sail University, the pirate princess Kairi Sane defeated both Nikki Cross and Candice LeRae in a triple threat match to become the new #1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship.
The match is expected to take place on the July 11th edition of WWE NXT, or possibly the July 18th show if they were taping content out of order. Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler for the women’s title marks the first match officially confirmed for the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn special taking place on August 21st during SummerSlam weekend.
