Less than one week ago news broke that former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III had finished up his run on Impact Wrestling, following a series of television tapings that will take the promotion through their next pay-per-view in April.

Carter shocked WWE fans this Saturday night by making a surprise appearance ringside at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, where he was officially announced as “EC 3” prior to the main event between Johnny Gargano and Andrade Cien Almas. While there has been no official confirmation that he has signed with WWE at this time, the company’s official social media accounts were all over his appearance as soon as it happened, which has to be considered a good sign.
