According to GOAL former Lille man Aurélien Chedjou spoke out about OM manger Igor Tudor’s current problems with players. Whilst speaking on L’Équipe’s TV channel, Chedjou spoke about his experience playing under Igor Tudor between February and November 2017 at Galatasary – and isn’t surprised by the Croation’s current predicament at OM:
“He has trouble with players of character – from his first speech we knew straight away that we were going to suffer. He had noticed by watching some of our games that we weren’t running enough and that we had to start doing it and that the one who wasn’t ready would be taken out of his group, that immediately set the tone,”
“At all the training sessions, even the day before the games, we were running. We were burnt out in matches. He insisted on the 3-5-2, which we didn’t master during the week, and it was even worse during the games. He didn’t want to know anything. It was a clash and some players went to see the president. I’m not surprised by what’s happening today in Marseille. I thought that with the experience he had at Galatasaray, he would put some effort into it. I thought he would take it easy after his experience at Galatasaray but I see that he hasn’t!”
The Croatian manager’s beginnings at Marseille have been more complicated than expected, losing every game in pre-season whilst alienating players in a dressing room that looks unsettled ahead of the new season. A meeting at the beginning of the week between the players and the coach was held to discuss the fractured relationship between them.
