Our colleagues at Foot Mercato report that Premier League side Chelsea have made a direct approach to Ligue 1 outfit Reims for 19-year-old French attacker Hugo Ekitike.
The contact from the Blues is in relation to a transfer in summer. Premier League side Newcastle United have also been in touch with Reims for the teenager earlier this month, with SDR quoting back a €40m asking price for any deal that an interested party is seeking to achieve in the January window. Talks have not gone any further.
