Speaking in an interview with Le Télégramme, 23-year-old French goalkeeper Gautier Larsonneur confirmed his desire to remain with Ligue 1 side Brest for next season.

“Yes I want to stay. In all likelihood, I will continue my deal with Brest. You never know, but the priority remains Brest, have playing time in Ligue 1, to be a starter and, today, I have all of that here. That’s my only aim, as well I am at the club of my heart, I have no reason to leave. Sometimes, a player does not have all the keys in his hand. But we still have time in front of us, a path to forge, a career to build. My simple and only aim is to be a starter next season.”

The player has also confirmed that contract extension negotiations are ongoing with SB29:

“Brest have begun to speak with me to see where we want to go together. We are going to try to find an agreement to continue together. Brest want that, until 2023 (he is currently contracted until 2022).”
