“As soon as we were told that we had to stop the league, we responded: “There are things more important than football.” Yes, but a club also has employees, not just players, who are dependent on us… A date of 3rd August has been put in place to finish French competitions. Between Ligue 1, the play-offs and the two cups, that represents 17 dates. We therefore need six weeks, which takes us to a return in mid-June, knowing that we will need around three weeks of physical preparation. By playing a match every three days, not far away from the rhythm that a team playing European football has to take on, this would not be insurmountable.”
