Punjab is one of those states where sex ratio is relatively poor in comparison to other states. But recently a village in Punjab erected the statue of Savitribai Phule, the original beti bachao icon who had opened first school for girls in 1848 at Bhide Wada, Pune, Maharashtra.
Now in order to take the message of girl education forward, the Sadda Singh Wala village in Mansa district has established a mathematics park for students in her memory with her statue installed in the government primary school.
