USATF Foundation announces 23 Youth Grant recipients


INDIANAPOLIS
– The USA Track & Field Foundation Chairman Bob Greifeld and
Executive Director Tom Jackovic announced Thursday it has awarded 23
youth grants to track & field clubs throughout the country.  The
grants assist young male and female athletes with expenses such as
travel to meets, equipment, uniforms, awards and facility rental.

a good feeling to end the year by making these youth grants to so many
deserving clubs, schools and other track & field-related
organizations,‰Û said Jackovic. ‰ÛÏIt’s through these groups that the
Foundation fulfills its mission.”
 

USATF Foundation grants were made to the following clubs:

1st Coast Track Club (FL), $1500
Austintown Community Track Club (OH), $1500
Charles County Elite Track & Field Club (MD), $1500
E-1 Track Club (GA), $1500
Eastern Jackson County Track Club (MO) $1500
Elite Track Club (TX), $2000
Evergreen Storm Track Club (WA), $1500
Fast Start Management, Inc. (FL), $1500
God‰Ûªs Speed Track Team (NY), $1500
Hurdles First Track Club (NC), $1500
J.U. Blacksher School (AL), $2000
Marion C. Early R-V (MO), $1500
Midas Track Club (PA), $1500
Rate of Motion Elite Track Club (GA), $1500
Runnin‰Ûª Mustangs Track Club (GA), $1000
Southern Oklahoma Track Club (OK), $1500
Staten Island Express Track Club (NY), $1500
Team Onalysis (CA), $1500
Titans Track Club, Inc. (GA), $1500
Valley Speedsters (PA), $1500
Valley Track Club (NM), $1500
West Coast Throwers (CA), $1500
You‰Ûªre On Athletic (MI), $1500

 Additionally,
the Foundation awarded a $1000 matching grant to U.S. Mountain Running
(CO), which will be used to create a DVD for coaches to introduce
Mountain Ultra-Trail running to kids.
 

The
USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and
innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing
opportunities for youth athletes, emerging elite athletes, distance
training centers and anti-doping education. The Foundation depends upon
donations from its Board of Directors and from generous fans of track
& field.
