— WWE made the decision to go ahead with the all women’s Evolution PPV a few weeks ago, right after the company pulled the scheduled October PPV that was scheduled for Boston, MA.
— It’s unclear why WWE didn’t just move forward by replacing the original PPV with the women’s one, but one theory is that perhaps the company wanted to move quickly to announce a big show in the New York market before the ROH/NJPW tickets for the MSG show next year go on sale.
— One note on the date for the Evolution PPV is that it is on October 28, which would put it up against formidable competition – Sunday Night Football for sure and very likely the World Series as well. As we noted before, the timing could be because WWE is tentatively planning on doing another Saudi Arabia show in November and this would calm public backlash of having another show without women on it.
