Speaking after being called up for the France squad for the first time, Rennes defender Adrien Truffert spoke about his experience with Les Bleus, and what it has taken to get him to this point in his career – as well as the start of his season with Rennes in Ligue 1, as transcribed by L’Équipe.

“I’m looking to enjoy and show my qualities. Since I was a little boy, this is my dream, it’s the fulfilment of all my hard work. But I am still young, I have a lot of things to work on. I’m going to stay myself, I think I have the right frame of mind, then the coach will judge.”

“There is no fear, only happiness. I’m not going to lose my football because I’ve been called up to the French senior team. But it’s obviously a different world, everyone knows that, it’s the ultimate level. No fear, just good pressure.”
