Kanakadurga, one of the two women who had earlier this month, become the first to offer prayers at the Sabarimala Temple has now taken shelter in a government-run home. This development comes after she came under a physical attack last week from her mother-in-law and her husband’s refusal to let her enter the house. Kanakadurga, a mother of two, in a complaint to the police alleged that she is being ostracized by her husband and in-laws for defying the customs and entering the Sabarimala shrine.

The 44-year-old woman approached Perinthalmanna police seeking protection to enter her house as she was facing threats.

But even after mediation attempts by the cops, Kanakadurga’s husband refused to let her in and insisted that she won’t be allowed to enter the house until she apologizes to the Ayyappa devotees for hurting their sentiments. Even her brother, while speaking at a gathering to protest the Supreme Court order allowing women of all ages to enter the shrine, had said that Kanakadurga was not welcome at his home. Both her family and her in-laws family claim that they were kept in the dark about her plans to visit Sabarimala.Click Here: collingwood magpies 2019 training guernsey
