Speaking in Paris Saint-Germain’s manager press conference ahead of welcoming Angers to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening, Christophe Galtier revealed that discussions are ongoing to extend Lionel Messi’s contract at the club. The following was transcribed by RMC Sport:

Galtier said  “there are discussions, the management of the club have exchanged with Leo on the subject of an extension – I don’t know at what stage it is at,” before adding “Leo seems to me happy to be in Paris,” but that the club has to relate his position “in relation to the club’s project” which is a subject that the manager does not reportedly discuss with the Argentine World Cup winner.

On the other side of the Atlantic Inter Miami have not yet lost out on the hope of signing Messi, with manager Phil Neville admitting that “If Messi were to come, that would make me happy, because I like playing with – and learning from – the best.”
