India, China, Russia, Myanmar and several other countries have found an alarming place in a report by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres; that revealed appalling levels of harsh retaliation and intimidation against those organizations that cooperate with the United Nations in defending human rights issue.
The ninth report by the secretary general elaborates the level of retaliation and intimidation against human rights defenders in each country that includes allegations of killing, torture, arbitrary arrests, public stigmatisation campaigns which also target victims of such abuses, the TOI reported.
