Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ouest-France, PSG attacker Kylian Mbappé discussed the 2019 Ballon D’Or.

“Let’s be frank, I don’t deserve it. There are players who have done more. With PSG, already, we did not win all the domestic titles and in the Champions’ League, we disappointed. Aside from that, of course from an individual perspective, I won a fair amount of titles, but football is not an individual sport and you have to accept that (shrugs his shoulders)!”

“I still have time to make up, I am not in a rush, it is not something that haunts me. I do not say to myself: ‘Ah, I must win it today, next year…’ No, I still have a lot of time. It is by thinking about the team first that I will receive the fruits of my labour.”

On if he thinks he would deserve to be on the Ballon D’Or podium:

Even I wouldn’t put myself on it. So as I said to you, I am honest. I will look at the final standings, because I have done so since I was a little boy. I will go the ceremony, because I have been invited and I will go speak to the winner to congratulate them. Me, I would say it will be Messi.

At Liverpool, there is also Van Djik and Mané who deserve it… Messi had another season with 60 goals. We have begun to make commonplace what he and Cristiano (Ronaldo) do, but when you sit down and drink some cold water, you see that he had a fantastic year, just like Cristiano. Those are the four who deserve it.
