The Journal du Dimanche report this morning that Marseille have decided to sack manager Rudi Garcia, in a decision that will be announced by the latest tomorrow.
The 54-year-old’s current deal runs until 2021, and it is estimated that OM will have to pay between €10m to €15m in order to buy out the former AS Roma and Lille coach’s contract.
Marseille owner Frank McCourt has taken this decision and has also decided to maintain President Jacques-Henri Eyraud. Garcia will oversee the final game of the season on Friday against Montpellier, with the newspaper also reporting that because of FFP restrictions OM will have to sell: Steve Mandanda, Kevin Strootman, Luiz Gustavo and Dimitri Payet are on salaries that the newspaper suggests Marseille will seek to rid of this summer.
Additionally, OM know that Florian Thauvin, Morgan Sanson and Maxime Lopez could fetch considerable transfer fees on the market this summer and are considering seeking to sell the trio, with no European football next season to look forward to.
