In what is seen as a bizarre move, a temple in Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram, has found itself in the midst of a controversy after it announced a ‘Kaliyoot’ festival, where blood of devotees will be collected and used to bathe the idol of Kali.
According to the brochure issued by the temple authorities of the Sree Vidwari Vaidyanatha Temple in Virtua, some 30 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram, blood will be collected from devotees begin from 12th of this month and will continue to 23rd.
The blood will be then used for the raktha abhishekam on the idol.
