MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead head wrestling coach Kris Nelson has announced the Dragons’ 2016-17 season schedule. MSUM will have seven events at home this season, highlighted by hosting the Super Region 3 meet on Feb. 24-25.

The Dragons open the regular season on Nov. 12 at the Bison Open in Fargo, N.D. Four days later, they will travel a few blocks west to face rival Concordia College at Memorial Auditorium.

MSUM will compete at the Finn Grinaker Open hosted by Concordia on Nov. 19. The Dragons’ home opener is Nov. 22 against Northland Community College.

The annual Dragon Open is set for Sunday, Dec. 4, followed by a home nonconference dual versus Division III powerhouse Augsburg on Dec. 8.

The Dragons will compete in at least two duals at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas on Dec. 19. On the schedule so far for MSUM are Cal Baptist and Wheeling Jesuit. That event will be the final competition for the Dragons prior to the holiday break.

MSUM resumes in January by hosting a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes. On Friday, Jan. 13, MSUM hosts Upper Iowa, and the next day, the Dragons host Minnesota State, Mankato. MSUM will have five of its final six matches on the road with the lone home match being its regular-season home finale on Jan. 27 against Northern State.

The Super Region 3 tournament will be at Alex Nemzek Hall on Feb. 24-25. The NCAA Division II Championships will be on March 10-11.
