Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry was found concerned about Lyon hiring Laurent Blanc as their new manager after the departure of Peter Bosz.

Speaking to the mics of Prime Video on Sunday, Henry noted that it would not be easy for the former Paris Saint-Germain manager to turn things around at OL. As quoted by Foot Mercato, Henry reacted to the appointment of Blanc:

“It’s up to him to show us. He will return to the French championship, he has always been in teams that have performed. It’s up to him to see what he will do, there are many questions, but I think the biggest question is what he’ll do with Boateng. We’ll see, but in any case, he’s shown that his teams know how to play football.”

OL started the proceedings in a much better manner in Ligue 1, going on a five-match unbeaten run at the start of the 2022/23 season.

Nevertheless, they subsequently succumbed to four consecutive defeats, which resulted in Lyon putting Bosz’s position at the club under the microscope. The 1-1 draw to Toulouse shattered the conviction of the club hierarchy, which has now brought in an experienced candidate in Blanc to change the fortune of their domestic season.
