After The Match: The Authority Returns And Makes Tonight’s Main Event
After the match, Cena and Ambrose celebrate in the ring until The Authority come back out. HHH admits Steph was right. He pays her $1. He says he hates to lose though. He says maybe those two just lacked the proper motivation to “make this all go down.” He says why wait until Hell In A Cell to find out who gets the shot at Rollins. HHH says lets hang a contract on a pole and Cena and Ambrose can tear each other limb from limb. He doesn’t care, only one of them will get the chance to face Rollins inside Hell In A Cell and it’ll be the man who takes that contract down. He says those two WILL tear each other apart. “John Cena and Dean Ambrose tonight, hell starts for both of you.”
AJ Lee & Layla vs. Paige & Alicia Fox
After all of that chaos, AJ Lee’s theme hits. We’re set for Divas tag-team action. We see highlights of last week’s RAW where AJ and Emma teamed up against Paige and Alicia Fox. We see AJ walking out on Emma, costing Emma the match. From there, we’re back live on RAW where Michael Cole questions who AJ will team up with this week to take on Paige and Alicia Fox. We head to commercial on that note.
We return from commercial to see that Layla is AJ’s partner for tonight and then we see a split-screen “earlier tonight” interview with AJ Lee, where she hesitantly accepts a hug from Layla after promising her she can trust her for at least one night. After that, Paige and Alicia Fox make their way to the ring. Here we go with our second match of the evening.
AJ and Fox start things off. AJ takes control of Fox early on and tries to drag her over and force her to tag Paige. Fox refuses, gains control of the offense and once AJ is laid out, she tags Paige in. Paige plays around too long, so AJ is back up. Paige runs away from AJ outside the ring, runs back in and tags Fox in before AJ can get her hands on her.
Fox gets her leg stuck on the ropes. AJ goes for the tag, but Layla jumps off the apron, leaving her high and dry. AJ smiles, turns around and hits a shining wizard on Fox for the 1-2-3.
Winners: AJ Lee & Layla
After The Match
AJ turns her attention to Layla on the floor. She runs up the ramp and tackles her down. She drags her back to ringside and slams her face-first on the barricade. And again. She grabs the Divas title and skips back up the ramp as her music plays. After this, we head to a commercial break.
Backstage: The Authority & Randy Orton
Backstage we see Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. In walks Randy Orton. He says before he goes out there and destroys Dolph Ziggler he wants to discuss one thing. He talks about Seth Rollins talking about how he’s the future of WWE and he wants the spotlight. He says that’s okay with hmi as long as he doesn’t take his spotlight. He says he knows Cena and Ambrose can beat Rollins, but neither of them can beat him. He asks The Authority to give him the loser between Cena and Ambrose at Hell In A Cell. HHH says that sounds good. Steph tells him she likes her enthusiasm. JBL ends the segment on commentary by saying, “TWO Hell In A Cell matches?!”
Wyatt Family Vignette
Another Wyatt Family vignette airs, seemingly focused on Erick Rowan this time. We see a lot of the same quick-cuts in the woods, barns, etc., only this time, Rowan and the sheep mask is the focus, more so than Luke Harper. Bray is talking a lot, but most of the visuals are of Rowan. Rowan even has a line or two in the package talking about how “he’s going to hurt you, just like you hurt me.” Bray says “they shall feel the smoke of his burning.”
Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton
After that bizarre Wyatt Family vignette, Dolph Ziggler’s music hits. The WWE Intercontinental Champion makes his way to the ring for his match with “The Viper” Randy Orton. With that being said, we head to commercial during his ring entrance.
When we return from commercial, Ziggler is shown in the ring. Cesaro is shown joininng the gang on commentary for this match. Randy Orton’s theme hits and out he comes for this one-on-one match.
Cesaro talks about how Ziggler owes him a rematch for the I-C title on commentary as “The Viper” makes his way to the ring to a pretty positive reaction from the fans in Atlanta. The regular announcers talk about the Orton match at Hell In A Cell that was confirmed earlier (the loser of the Cena-Ambrose match later tonight).
Straight from the word go, “The Viper” is in control of this one. He takes his time and slowly takes apart the I-C champ as Cesaro argues with the announcers on commentary.
Ziggler finally starts getting in some offense, including a picture-perfect dropkick. We see Seth Rollins make his way out to the top of the stage as we immediately head to a mid-match commercial.
We return from commercial to see Rollins still on the stage and Orton in control over Ziggler in the ring. Rollins slowly creeps his way to the ring as Ziggler starts fighting back. His comeback attempt doesn’t last long, however, as Orton regains control of the offense.
Ziggler finally gets in some offense, but during his big comeback, out of nowhere, while in mid-air, Ziggler falls down right into an RKO from Orton. That was actually pretty awesome. After the match, Rollins enters the ring, hits a Curb Stomp on Ziggler and we head to commercial.
Winner: Randy Orton
