MIZ TV
We kick off this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live with Miz TV who welcomes everybody to the show and introduces his guests, making their talk show debut, The Bludgeon Brothers. The Tag Team Champions enter the ring and bring in their bludgeons, but Miz quickly turned the mood by saying they had something in common, they both proved how easy it was to dismantle Daniel Bryan and he wants to know why they did that.
Neither Harper or Rowman speak, and instead Miz shows footage from last week of what took place, cutting it into three acts like a movie. He claimed Bryan made a mistake in disrespecting their moment and says he knows exactly how that feels. Miz continues to talk and eventually, Harper slaps the microphone out of his hand, but before things get physical, here comes Daniel Bryan!
Miz once again tries to talk but Daniel Bryan tells him to shut up. Bryan says the cost him a shot at the WWE Championship and they might be big and scary, but size isn’t as important as heart, he is asking which one of them is going to fight him first. Harper says Daniel never learns, but he is going to, tonight as Harper accepts the challenge.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
The New Day is shown backstage as Xavier Woods is drinking a pancake smoothie to get him ready for the upcoming match where he takes on Rusev.
RUSEV vs XAVIER WOODS
Xavier Woods starts out in control of the match and sent Rusev into the ropes where Big E popped up with a cut out speech bubble stating “ouch” which got a good response from the crowd, but the number one contender for the WWE Title has had enough jokes and planted Woods with a Spine Buster soon after.
Back from the commercial and Woods was taking the fight straight to Rusev with plenty of chops and a major spinning forearm. The New Day member then rocked Rusev with a DDT but he was able to kick out at 2 to keep the match alive.
Woods then displayed great strength to pick up Rusev but couldn’t keep him up and after a superkick, he was a victim of a major Samoan Drop from the Super Athlete. Both men then scaled the top turnbuckle but Woods fought his way out of it and sent Rusev into the ring post but as he attempted to build on that momentum, Rusev hit a Machka Kick and then locked in the dominant Accolade finisher which granted Rusev the win.
Winner: Rusev
Following the match, Rusev tells the crowd that tonight isn’t about Woods or pancakes, it’s about AJ Styles who Rusev thinks is scared. He claims Styles proved that when he punched Aiden in the fact last week, he said this was a preview and he is coming for the title and it will be a great Rusev Day.
